The Learning and Skills Tutor Level 5 Apprenticeship is a high-level qualification designed for individuals working, or aspiring to work, as teachers or trainers. This is an ‘in service’ qualification that combines practical teaching experience with structured learning to support professional development within the education sector.

What It Covers

The Learning and Skills Tutor Level 5 Apprenticeship can typically be completed within 1-2 years, depending on the number of teaching hours delivered. Throughout the programme, learners will be supported to:

  • Promote a passion for learning and maintain high expectations of all learners
  • Underpin teaching practice through professional standards and evidence based teaching and learning approaches
  • Plan and deliver learning that is current, relevant, challenging, and engaging, enabling learners to achieve their full potential

Aim

On completion, successful trainees will be able to take both an analytical and practical approach to planning, delivering, and assessing inclusive teaching and learning. They will also be equipped to implement technology-enhanced learning approaches that support the evolving digital learning environment.

Apprenticeships are open to individuals of all ages and offer a cost-effective route to gaining a recognised qualification while earning and learning. This programme is ideal for those who are new to teaching or training within the further education and skills sector and are seeking comprehensive training to support their development as an educational practitioner.

Who We Are

Ignite Sport UK is a registered training provider delivering sport and education qualifications nationally. We hold main provider status with the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).

Our apprenticeship programmes provide individuals with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for professional practice. This qualification is nationally recognised within the Lifelong Learning sector, and on completion, learners are eligible to apply for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status.
