The power of AI and its ability to positively impact the performance of businesses in Oxfordshire was explored at a free leadership session hosted by Ignite Training.
More than 25 representatives from organisations and charities across the county visited Oxford City FC to understand how AI developments can be maximised in the workplace.
The half-day experience featured insights from guest speakers Graham Caleb – former Vice President of Customer Service and Marketing in Europe for tech giants Dell – and AI expert Karmen Vineyard.
It formed part of Ignite Training and Oxford City FC’s ongoing work to connect local businesses and charities who might benefit from enhancing their understanding of the latest AI tools and ask any questions they might have.
Discussions were broken down into three mini-modules, AI, leadership concepts and strategic success. Guests were also asked to rate on a scale of one to 10 how they feel AI positively impacts their operations at present.
Justin Merritt, CEO of Ignite Training, said: “We were really pleased with the turnout and engagement from those who attended our AI leadership session.
“The session explored best practices, and how AI can be used as a tool for positive change in the wake of rapid behavioural change and improvements to AI.
“We’re very grateful to Dell and all our guest speakers for supporting this event and sharing key insights with the local business community.”
The day broke new ground for Ignite Training too.
The business was founded in 1999 by present CEO Justin Merritt who had a vision to inspire young people to become the best version of themselves by harnessing the power of sport.
Today, it employs a team of 50 people and specialises in apprenticeship training with clients including Aston Villa FC, Bristol Bears and Oxfordshire Youth.
Justin added: “Education doesn’t stop when a person leaves school.
“It’s a continual process, which is why we were keen to host this free workshop so business leaders and representatives locally had the opportunity to accelerate their knowledge of AI in a relaxed environment.
“AI is one of the fastest-moving spaces of our generation, and – when used correctly – can drive opportunities for businesses to grow and enhance outcomes which our workshop explored.”
